In blog we trust

I recently wrote this article for the Press Gazette; some basic SEO tips for journalists. It’s nice to think that I might be developing a reputation for knowing what I’m talking about, but in fact the deputy editor found me through this blog.
I find that hugely encouraging. It’s not often as a journalist that you get offered work from outside your circle of contacts.
It serves to underline what (the far more accomplished) Paul Bradshaw wrote in his recent Press Gazette article: “A blog has become an essential tool in finding work…you can build a reputation, and surprising things can happen: freelance work can come to you.”
