Fox News: just “feeding the beast”

Blimey.
All Fox News wanted to do was have a sensible, informed discussion about the death of Heath Ledger, and guest Montel Williams has to spoil it all by mentioning the fact that 28 US troops had died in Iraq since the beginning of the month, and asking why we aren’t talking about them instead.
Under several seconds of sustained pressure from off-message Montel, one of the anchors admits that they are “feeding the beast”.
Imagine the reaction if Montel had mentioned the estimated death toll of 151,000 Iraqis in the three years following the invasion? Perhaps the anchor would have saddled up that beast and ridden it around the studio yelling ‘yeehaa!”.
