More Ads? Yes please!

A couple of weeks ago I was poking fun at a Facebook ad that had the clickable option ‘More Ads’.
Now I love a good 5-minute ad break as much as the next man, which is why I’m as miserable as the next man to read that Ofcom thinks we should have more of them.
Ofcom says that it’s bearing in mind “the contribution made by advertising revenue to paying for the choice of television services that viewers enjoy.”
Hey wait, is that the same choice that gives us Cops with Cameras, Loose Women and the entirety of Dave? Isn’t it the plethora of channels that leaves what little good programming there is spread molecule-thick across them?
If choice is funded by advertising, I think I see a way to fix TV at a stroke – of course, I’m talking about continuing to illegally download the good bits from file sharing sites.
