Hi. I’d like everyone who works in marketing to sit down and take a deep breath. You can make a cup of tea if it will help.
I’m not an online influencer.
It’s true. Really; I’m a nobody.
Oh, I’m not a brand advocate, either. I’m not sure I even know any. Are you sure you didn’t make them up?
It’s relevant because, in my post on Facebook advertising, I mentioned a credit card brand by name (now redacted). Somebody from ecomparison.co.uk found it and left a comment, with a link to a sponsored page for that brand on the ecomparison site.
No.
You see, Charlie and I work in a search-based digital marketing company, and this blog is where we go to publicly flagellate ourselves in the hope that it might save our mortal souls from eternal damnation. I’ll be buggered if I’m going to let marketers squeeze Googlejuice out of it. Besides, search-savvy ones will know about nofollow.
So, whoever you are, whatever you do, if you bother to read us and have a genuine opinion please leave a comment - we publish everything that isn’t a) spam or b) abhorrent.
But if you’re a marketer looking to engage; wrong blog, dude.
