Google News pulls out quotes

Maybe I’m slow on this - but has anyone else noticed this ‘highlighted quote’ feature before at the top of Google News results? (please excuse the poor reproduction - you get the idea).
I like the way it tells you how many news sources have included the same quote - kind of shows up the news recycling process/reliance on PR.
Although rather than fiddle about with features like this, it might be better if Google News kicked out press release and spam news outlets.
